[A Verse for Future Beings]
1. And so we, in our youth, tilled the earth with reckless hands,
seeking dominion but forgetting its breath.
2. We wove towers of pride and chariots of flame,
yet left the rivers barren and the fields weeping.
3. In our ignorance, we sang songs of conquest,
blind to the cries of creation beneath our feet.
4. But now we turn, humbled and lowly,
offering the ashes of our folly as a plea for grace.
5. Forgive us, you who walk in the dawn we could not see;
forgive the wounds carved by our restless souls.
6. May you rise, not as we were, but as we hoped to be:
bearers of light, healers of the broken, sowers of peace.
7. Let the scars we leave be not burdens,
but maps that guide you to wisdom.
8. And may your hands, though born of our dust,
craft a world where love reigns eternal, and harmony is your inheritance.
Amen.
